This past offseason, Kyle Blaney opted to leave Ryerson a year early to pursue his professional hockey career. Blaney opted to join the Wings, after receiving several offers at the ECHL level.

Blaney did not take long to make his impact known, as he set up a beautiful goal in his first game as a pro. It should come as no surprise, as he’s been able to be a heavily relied upon player at every level he’s played to date.

Blaney’s speed, work ethic, and ability to produce offensively while adding an element of grit should transfer well to the pro game. In 45 career games at the OUA level, Blaney amassed 48 points, in a league where it’s a rarity to average over a point per game.

Blaney hopes to continue to contribute to a Wings team that is off to a strong start with a 3-1-0 record in their first four games.
