Quest is proud to announce that Guelph native Mike Cazzola has signed a two-year contract with the Edinburgh Capitals of the EIHL. Mike had a memorable rookie season with the Fort Wayne Komets of the ECHL that saw him lead all rookies with 76 points in 67 games.

Mike’s strong play earned him an AHL call up to the Binghamton Senators and, while he garnered a great deal of AHL interest, Mike has decided to head overseas and continue his hockey career while pursuing a MSc. in Physiotherapy at Queen Margaret University.

Although Mike is thrilled to be joining the Capitals, he greatly enjoyed his time as a Komet and will miss the team, coaching staff, and fans. The organization afforded Mike an opportunity to excel and succeed last season, while head coach Gary Graham helped develop Mike’s game so that he could get to the next level. Mike could not be more thankful to the Komets organization, his teammates, and to the phenomenal fan base that he got to play in front of last season.

The deal in Scotland could not have been accomplished without the help of owner Scott Neil, Steve Casciani, and Queen Margaret University. As Mike embarks on a new journey, he wants to send a special thank you to his family for their continued support. The growth in Mike’s game could also not have happened without great coaches, teammates, and mentors along the way. Mike continues to set an example for other Quest athletes, not only pursuing pro hockey but his education as well. We know it will not be long before Mike is making a name for himself in Scotland.
