Quest CIS stars Tim Priamo, Mike Cazzola, and Mike Hammond have boasted very strong starts to their respective CIS seasons.

Tim Priamo has battled back from an ankle injury early last year to become the University of New Brunswick’s most prominent shut down defenceman. The smooth skating 6-foot defender has also started to find his offensive game as he begins to log more minutes and take on more responsibility for the Reds who are ranked 4th across Canada. As the Reds look to make another championship run, Priamo will be heavily relied upon as he finishes his final year at UNB.

Mike Cazzola currently sits second in AUS scoring with 21 points in 16 games and is in the top 20 in scoring across the nation, however those numbers pale in comparison to his performance at the Winter Universiade. Cazzola notched 10 points in 6 games, good for top 5 in the tournament, but more importantly helped Canada win Gold. Acadia is currently ranked 3rd across Canada in large part due to Cazzola’s early play.

Mike Hammond has led Lakehead to the top of West Division and into a contender for the national title as they are currently ranked 5th across Canada. With 18 points in 16 games, Mike is Lakehead’s leading scorer and sits inside the top 30 across the country. His offensive ability combined with his defensive awareness has not only made him Lakehead’s most valuable player but one of the best in the CIS ranks.
