Quest Sports Management Group was founded in 2012 by Fy Virani & Stefan Wittman. Both Fy and Stefan share a deep love of sports and both played at various competitive levels throughout Canada and abroad. After their competitive careers, they turned their attention to school while staying involved in sports by volunteering as coaches of youth teams; that is where their passion for fostering athletic development, facilitating the mastery of skills, and spearheading personal success really began.

It soon became clear that an opportunity was imminent, as the two looked to transform this passion into a vocation. Given their shared legal education and business background, athlete representation emerged as the perfect and obvious fit. Fy and Stefan thus began Quest Sports Management Group in order to offer their legal and business expertise to athletes aspiring to become professionals.

Before Quest specialized in hockey, the group represented golfers and Olympians as well. Quest strives to be a leader in the industry, not only in athlete success, but in providing real, personal and balanced services as well.

Fy ViraniDuring Fy’s law degree, he gained an extensive look into Sports Law both in Canada and abroad. He successfully conducted a mock salary arbitration under review of Vancouver Canucks front management office, specifically General Manager Mike Gillis and Assistant General Manager Laurence Gilman.

Fy has quickly built a reputation in the industry, interacting with individuals such as Donald Baizley, a highly respected NHL agent who recently passed away, and Brian Burke, the President of Hockey Operations of the Calgary Flames. His hockey network continues to grow with NHL scouts, AHL and ECHL players, the NCAA ranks, as well as many CHL teams across Canada.

Fy was born and raised in Guelph, Ontario, where at a young age he developed a passion for hockey. He was skating by the age of 5, playing competitively at the age of 6 and continued to do so until the age of 21 through the support of his family. Fy enjoyed five years of Junior Hockey in Ontario at various levels (Tier II Jr. A, Jr. B and Jr. C) while exploring CIS and NCAA options. Fy’s passion eventually led him to hang up the skates at a competitive level and pursue a law degree at the University of Victoria, after finishing a Bachelor of Honors at the University of Guelph in Criminal Justice and Public Policy while minoring in Business. Fy has been a practicing lawyer since 2013.

Final Headshots September 2012-StefStefan was born and raised in beautiful Vancouver, BC, where he developed a love of sports at a young age. He actively participated in many sports including soccer, baseball, basketball, football, and tennis. It wasn’t until the age of 13, however, that he discovered his truest passion in the game of golf. Stefan spent his adolescent summer days on the golf course and won the Jr. Club Championship at Cultus Lake Golf Course in 1999 and 2000; outside of his yearly participation in his club championship at Shaughnessy Golf and Country Club, Stefan’s competitive golf ended after high school when he chose a more scholastic path that he was passionate about.

Stefan graduated from the University of British Columbia in 2006 with a B.A. in Cognitive Systems, an interdisciplinary program that combined linguistics, psychology, philosophy, and computer science. Over the next two years, he taught English as a Second Language and conducted statistical analyses of golf with a professor at UBC, before deciding to embark on further school. Stefan studied law and business at the University of Victoria and completed the double degree JD/MBA program in 2014.
